Strap yourselves in, this one is going to be a mammoth!

First wedding of the 2012 season, and it's lovely to be back at a wedding again.

I only met Andy and Susanna about 2 months ago, they'd been looking around for a photographer whose work they liked, I'm very very happy they found my site, this was the first time I'd ventured into Dartmoor and I wasn't disappointed, the rolling hills and single track roads were everything I expected from Devon and so much more.

The morning involved a huge ceremony at the Wanford Methodist Church in Exeter, with 150 guests in attendance, many of whom brought their own cakes along, which my lovely assistant (and girlfriend) Kady was only too happy to find a new home for.

At 3:30 we left a grey, overcast Exeter and headed into the Moors where just a glimmer of blue sky was there to be soon, but alas the sun decided not to poke its head out much.

The reception was held at the very cosy, very intimate surroundings of the Drewe Arms in Drewsteignton, a village exactly as I'd hoped, picturesque white cottages, stone-walled lanes.....and the Daffodils in full bloom.

Andy and Susanna left for Cornwall at 9 (so a much earlier finish for me than usual) but not before we'd spent a good hour in the back garden, in the pitch black, with only the modelling lamp of my lights to illuminate the darkness, we soon had a big crowd all patiently waiting for their turn, I think we managed to get quite a few people's Christmas card photos done that night, and the results can be seen below.

Big thanks to Andy and Susanna for having us at your big day, to Fiona at the Drewe Arms for looking after us (Kady especially appreciated the apple juice) and to my darling Kady for getting out of bed early(ish) to come along and hold a softbox on a stick for me.

Please leave us some love in the comments box after you've seen the photos.

    Lovely photos.

One from earlier in the year when the snow was with us, Jack and Penny, for reasons known only to themselves, decided that minus 3 temperatures and a smattering of snow shouldn't put you off having a little shoot, we went through a reduced number of shots, mainly because it was bloody cold...with the aim being to pick things up next month when the sun (hopefully) comes out and brings the flowers with it.

The also also featured a special guest in the form of the legendary monkey, who first bounded into my life last september at Jack's brothers wedding, where he tried his hardest to ruin my group shots, he's a little scamp!

And as a special bonus, just for you, here's monkey's first ever appearance(s)!

Tom and Harriet appeared on here a couple of weeks back, Tom wanted some nice photos of the two of them for Valentine's day, we managed a short session before the pouring rain and squelching mud made postponing seem like the better part of valour!

Harriet has been at University studying for the last few weeks, but she's made it back to mighty Bourne now to finish the shoot off, and I was given the brief of getting them some 'signature gryphon images' - so no pressure there!

The sun really didn't want to play ball yesterday, everytime it popped its head out it was quickly swallowed up again by looming clouds, but in the few moments of sun we got, I think we managed to capture a couple of moments, I'll let you all be the judges.

Hopefully (he says risking fate) this post should be the first with facebook integration so you can post and comment just using your facebook ID, let me know it works by leaving me some love.

So Tom e-mailed me about a week ahead of Valentine's day wondering if I could do some portraits of him and his girlfriend Harriet, naturally I said that wouldn't be a problem.

I didn't count on the British weather! We got a little soaked, not before I had time to get a handful of shots though, I think we did OK!

Check back in a couple of weeks for the rest of the set,
